Glass Bottle Quality Management
Our company maintains a commitment to quality, which is evident at every stage of the glass bottle production process. We have a dedicated quality control department that works in conjunction with our production team to ensure that every detail is meticulously followed from initial melting to final packaging.
Ensuring the quality of our bottles is a team effort that requires the combined efforts of line operators, cleaning and changeover crews, and manufacturing/packaging management. Our inspection technology provides accurate data readings, backed up by the keen intuition of our inspectors, allowing us to faithfully meet your specifications.
Strict Quality Control systems
Pre-production mould inspection:
Before we begin high-volume production, we thoroughly inspect our moulds to verify their integrity. We meticulously check for any polishing and combing necessary to meet our standards of accuracy.
First run testing:
First run production requires detailed measurements of the first 100 glass bottles. We carefully compare these bottles to the design drawings, meticulously measuring dimensions such as height, diameter, neck entrance diameter, neck inner diameter, bottom thickness, glass weight and liquid fill level to ensure consistency.
Random production checks:
Throughout the production process, we perform hourly random checks on each mould. We check 20 bottles per mould to ensure they meet design specifications and rigorously reject any products with bubbles, cracks or other defects.
Warehouse quality checks:
At the end of production, our warehouse manager conducts an accurate count of the glass bottles. We provide our customers with exact quantities and detailed packing lists to ensure transparency and accuracy.
Pre-shipment inspection:
Prior to shipment, our team conducts a final inspection to ensure the integrity and cleanliness of the packaging, ensuring that the product meets our high standards before it reaches the customer.
Our focus on quality management is more than just a policy; it’s a reflection of our commitment to customer satisfaction and excellence in glass bottle manufacturing.
Choose our glass bottles for your packaging needs and get peace of mind with every order. Contact us today to find out how we can exceed your expectations for quality and service.
Main checklist for defects
Issues that We Strictly Treat in Quality Inspection
We carry out a rigorous quality check on every shipment of glass bottles, which not only allows us to check the surface finish of the glass containers, but also to provide a detailed report on all possible defects. Please see our main checklist for defects.
Split Finish
This refers to an uneven or irregular break in the mouth or neck of a glass bottle. This can be caused by uneven cooling or inconsistencies in the glass material.
Crumbles
refers to chips or shards on the surface or edge of a glass bottle. This is usually caused by excessive mechanical or thermal stress on the glass during the manufacturing process.
Deformation
This refers to distortion or deformation of the shape of the glass bottle, which can be caused by poor mould design, uneven glass flow or uneven stresses during cooling.
Molded Seam
This refers to the marks on the mould seams of a glass bottle during the moulding process. If the mould seams are not handled properly, this may result in visible seam lines on the bottle.
Hammered Appearance
This term is often used to describe a glass surface that looks like it has been hammered, with an uneven or sunken appearance. This can be caused by uneven shrinkage of the glass as it cools.
Thin Walls
This refers to the uneven thickness or overall thinness of the walls of a glass bottle. This may affect the structural strength and durability of the bottle.
Blisters
Refers to bubbles or bulges that appear on the surface of the glass bottle. This is usually caused by air or other gases contained in the glass material that are not fully expelled during the cooling process.
Cord
In glass manufacturing, ‘cord’ refers to the rope-like texture that forms on the body of a glass bottle during the moulding process due to uneven glass flow. This can affect the appearance and uniformity of the bottle.
